Anne’s aim is to connect people to each other and to a snapshot of her inner life through her compositions, be they instrumental or songs sung in Portuguese, English or Spanish. Her love of languages is matched only by her love of watching her students go “aha!” and smile with satisfaction.

Anne Boccato is a pianist, composer and vocalist born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. She has been living in the United States for over 10 years, enjoying  the Jazz scene in New York City, teaching piano lessons and performing her own music, as well as collaborating with some wonderful musicians.

When she’s not rolling around on the floor singing songs with 4-year-olds, Anne can be found coming up with her best musical ideas in the shower (though she’d prefer you didn’t come find her there).

A graduate of SUNY Purchase College with a degree in Jazz piano performance, Anne has worked extensively with composition and arranging, combining musical elements of her native Brazil with the modern jazz she encountered in New York City’s thriving music scene. Anne has performed/appeared on recordings with John Patitucci, Antonio Sanchez, John Ellis, Charles Flores, Kris Allen, Jean-Michel Pilc, Kevin Hays, Brazilian guitarrist Fabio Gouvea, acclaimed Mexican vocalist Magos Herrera and many others, at venues such as Yale University, the Performing Arts Center at SUNY Purchase, the University of Hartford, as well as many places abroad. She currently teaches her own private piano studio as well as  students at We Sing For The World.
